Health is a deep and abiding part of each person’s essential nature, and is never lost. Deep within each of us, health is always available, and can be palpated (felt) as slow, steady rhythmic sensation.

See our schedule of Upcoming Trainings & Workshops below.

The Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Foundation Training

The Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy foundation training is based on the “Breath of LIfe” perspective of craniosacral therapy by the founder of the work, Dr. William Garner Sutherland, and the continuation of the work by Franklyn Sills (author of Craniosacral Biodynamics). You’ll learn to experience the ever-present health within yourself and others in this revolutionary approach to healthcare. In gentle, non-invasive interactions between practitioner and client, you’ll experience how the Inherent Health of each client comes to the foreground and expresses its vitality. In this dynamic process, the client’s patterns of pain, stress and trauma begin to resolve.

This training occurs in a series of 12 class modules over a period of about 2 years. The first and last modules of the training are 5-day classes. The middle 10 modules of the training are all 4-day classes. The topics of the full 12-module training are described below. You can become a Registered Craniosacral Therapist (RCST) upon satisfactory completion of this training, including attendance at all of the following classes:

Gary Peterson is the founder of the STAR Institute and teaches the STAR Institute’s Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy foundation trainings around the U.S. Gary is a Registered Craniosacral Therapist (RCST ®) and approved teacher with the (BCTA/NA) Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America. He has been teaching and practicing energetic therapies for over 25 years, and also teaches trainings in birth imprinting, in his own practice (called Settling), and other therapeutic work with the nervous system.

Gary studied Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with Franklyn Sills, a longtime teacher and practitioner of the “Breath of Life” model advanced by Dr. William Sutherland. Sills is the author of The Polarity Process and Craniosacral Biodynamics, Volumes 1 & 2.

Gary also studied Prenatal and Birth Therapy with Dr. Ray Castellino and works with babies, children and adults in private practice. His clinical practice is inspired by his increasing desire to understand and work with the deep causes of suffering found in shock and trauma to the nervous system. To help people relieve stress and trauma Gary founded a school and clinic with centers in Ohio and Colorado: The Settling Touch and Resource (STAR) Institute.

Gary’s first book, due in print in 2011, is entitled Settling: Simple Ways to Calm Your Nervous System. This self-help manual gives everyone a simple set of skills for regulating their nervous system and finding balance and relaxation. Gary and his wife Bonnie have 3 grown children and live in Longmont, Colorado.
